RESIDENTIAL ROOF OF THE YEAR!
We are proud to announce that Accredited Roofing has been recognised at the 2026 Roofing Association New Zealand Conference for one of our residential Colorsteel roof replacement projects.
Completed by our dedicated Colorsteel roofing team, this project was entered alongside several outstanding roofing projects from across New Zealand. After being selected as one of four finalists, our project was ultimately awarded the top honour in its category, a testament to the skill, craftsmanship, and attention to detail demonstrated by our team throughout the project.
The Project:
The award-winning project involved the replacement of an existing metal tile roof with a new Colorsteel Espan roofing system, alongside the installation of new spouting and insulation.
Project Description:
“This project involved removing an existing pressed steel roof and installing a new Colorsteel Espan roof system, alongside replacing all spouting and upgrading insulation to improve overall performance. The work began with levelling all trusses to within a 1 mm tolerance in preparation for purlin installation. Establishing a true structural base ensured precision installation and consistent rib alignment across the entire roof.
The team staged the build by completing straightforward roof planes first, allowing dedicated time and focus for complex sections. These included multiple pitch transitions, dormer roofs, and detailed integration around kitchen windows. The most technically demanding element was the custom bay window roofline, where uneven geometry required every sheet to be individually measured and cut. Maintaining continuous rib alignment across this irregular surface demanded patience, precision, and repeated refinement to achieve a seamless visual flow.
Dormer intersections introduced valley complexity, demanding precise flashing execution and seamless integration with the main roof. Custom saddle flashings were fabricated to accommodate pitch variations and ensure watertight performance.
Throughout the project, attention to detail and commitment to workmanship were paramount, reflecting pride in craftsmanship. The result is a visually cohesive roof where complex junctions flow cleanly, demonstrating skilled problem-solving, technical accuracy, and pride in execution.”
What the Judges Had to Say:
The judging panel recognised the technical complexity of the project and the exceptional standard of workmanship required to achieve the final result.
Judge Ben Clisby described the project as, “A technically demanding roof featuring multiple pitches, intersections, and complex junctions. Meticulous substructure preparation enabled the flawless installation of the wide-tray European-style cladding.”
The judges went on to further describe the project as:
“An absolute stand out result delivered with consummate precision.”
A Reflection of Our Team’s Commitment:
This award is a reflection of the expertise and dedication our roofing team brings to every project, regardless of size or complexity. From careful planning and preparation through to the final installation details, our focus remains on delivering roofing systems that perform exceptionally while achieving the highest standards of workmanship.
To be recognised by industry leaders and selected as the winning project from a field of high-quality finalists is an achievement we are incredibly proud of.
We would like to thank the Roofing Association New Zealand and the judging panel for this recognition, and congratulate all finalists and entrants who showcased the outstanding roofing talent present throughout New Zealand.
Most importantly, we would like to acknowledge our Colorsteel roofing team, whose craftsmanship, professionalism, and commitment to quality made this award-winning project possible.
