Asbestos Roof Removal

Family-Owned, Expert Roofing Solutions Tailored to New Zealand’s Unique Conditions – Where You Deal Directly with the Owners for Trusted, Quality Service Every Time.

Asbestos roof removal is a complex and costly process that requires a certified team, specialised care and tools to ensure safety and compliance with regulations in Auckland. The removal and disposal of asbestos can sometimes come at a high cost depending on the scale of the asbestos roof removal project.

To help with this, we offer two asbestos roof removal and replacement solutions:

RESIDENTIAL

Full asbestos roof removal and installation option

Our complete service includes the set up of access and safety equipment, a certified team who will carefully remove and dispose of your old roof followed by the installation of your new roofing system. We also handle all necessary health and safety requirements and clearance certificates for the project. This all-inclusive asbestos roof removal and replacement package ensures a seamless transition, with the proper safety measures in place.

CF Overlay Option

For a more cost-effective approach, we offer the CF Overlay roof project. This involves installing a low-profile metal tile roof directly over your existing asbestos roof, creating a double waterproof barrier for your home. This effectively encapsulates all asbestos fibers, eliminating any potential future concerns or risks. The CF overlay is designed to seamlessly integrate with the current structure, offering the same warranty and appearance as a new roof.

Both roofing packages can be custom-tailored to suit your unique needs and preferences, ensuring the safety of your property while providing a durable, high-quality roofing solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does your asbestos roof removal service work?

Asbestos roof removal is a specialised process. We set up access and safety equipment, use a certified team to carefully remove and dispose of your old asbestos roof, manage health and safety requirements and arrange clearance certificates. We then install your new preferred roofing system.

What is the difference between full asbestos roof removal and your CF Overlay option?

Full removal involves taking off all asbestos roofing, disposing of it safely and installing a completely new roof. Due to the health and safety measures and clearance certificates required, it makes an asbestos removal project costly. The CF Overlay option is more cost‑effective: we install a low‑profile CF metal tile roof directly over your existing asbestos roof, creating a double waterproof barrier and encapsulating the asbestos fibres.

Do I always need to remove my asbestos roof, or can I keep it in place?

Asbestos is likely to only be found in Decramastic tiles manufactured in 1960’s and 1970’s or super six roofs. Depending on the roof type or if your home has two layers of roofing (one on top of the other), the roof may need to be removed.

What affects the cost of asbestos roof removal and replacement?

Costs will vary depending on the size and pitch of your roof, the removal of existing materials, the type of new roofing you choose, as well as the compulsory clearance certificates and access/safety measures needed for the project. Additional costs may apply if you choose to wrap your property to keep it fully watertight during the project. Because asbestos removal and full replacement can be a significant cost, we also offer a CF Overlay option designed specifically for properties with asbestos, providing a more budget-friendly alternative.

How long does a typical residential asbestos roof removal project take?

Timeframes vary, but most residential asbestos roof removal and replacement projects are completed over several days. This allows for the installation of access and safety equipment, safe setup, removal and disposal of existing roofing materials, sign off and clearance certificates and then the installation of your new roofing materials.

Can you arrange testing if I’m not sure whether my old roof contains asbestos?

Yes. If you suspect your existing Decramastic / metal tile roof might contain asbestos, contact us and we can help arrange a roof asbestos test. Our technician will take a clipping from your roof and it will be sent off to a lab for testing. Once we receive your results, the report will be emailed to you and we will be in touch to discuss your options and provide a quote.
